We believe Pilates can be a meaningful part of a fuller, more active life. It’s one piece of the bigger picture: building strength, finding balance, and supporting the activities you love for years to come.
Pilates Cœur grew from a desire to help more people make movement part of their lives—and the understanding that a traditional class schedule doesn’t always make that easy. Sometimes the timing doesn’t work. Sometimes the class that fits your schedule doesn’t fit what you need.
We wanted to create more possibilities.
Our studio brings together instructor-led classes and flexible, video-guided workouts, giving you more choice in how you practice.
Alongside our scheduled classes, you’ll have opportunities to select a workout from our in-studio video library at the kiosk. You can choose a session that matches your experience, your goals, and how you’re feeling that day.
It’s an approach built around a simple idea: making room for Pilates should feel easier.
People come to Pilates with different experiences and reasons for moving. You might be building a foundation, working toward greater mobility and balance, complementing a sport, or reconnecting with movement after time away.
We want Pilates Cœur to be a welcoming place to explore what’s possible for you. Our vision is a community where people of different backgrounds, abilities, and stages of life feel comfortable getting started—and supported as they continue.
Founder, Pilates Cœur
Lisa fell in love with Pilates before she even knew she was doing Pilates, more than 25 years ago. Years later, when she found the reformer, she was drawn to the challenge, the variety, and the opportunity to keep exploring new ways to move. That passion eventually led her to become an instructor, where she discovered how much she loved being part of her clients’ wellness journeys.
At the same time, she kept hearing the same challenge: people wanted to practice more consistently, but class schedules didn’t always fit real life. Drawing on a long career in media and technology, where much of her work centered on developing solutions for changing needs, Lisa saw an opportunity to rethink the traditional Pilates studio model.
Together with her husband, John, she created Pilates Cœur to combine thoughtful instruction with greater flexibility, making it easier for more people to build strength, move well, and stay consistent.
Co-Founder, Pilates Cœur
John was always intrigued by Pilates, but he only started practicing regularly when Lisa became an instructor just over five years ago. Fitness has always been a constant for him. He loves playing sports and has been a competitive amateur golfer since his late 20s.
Class schedules rarely fit around his work, so when Lisa bought a reformer for in-home appointments, John began practicing on his own. Today he does Pilates three to four times a week using videos at home, and he loves being able to choose the type of workout each session. The back and shoulder pain that had nagged him since his 40s is gone, and he’s gained distance on his golf drive.
His experience helped inspire the Pilates Cœur concept: bringing the benefits of Pilates to people with limited schedules who prefer to work out on their own, which is the idea behind Cœur Flex. He works mostly behind the scenes, but he’s just as passionate about helping people of every age feel fit and pain-free.
